SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara women's water polo team hosts San Diego State University on Saturday in a Golden Coast Conference matchup before traveling to face Sonoma State on Sunday.

The Broncos (11-14, 1-4) play the Aztecs (12-13, 4-1) at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Sullivan Aquatic Center and face the Seawolves (6-15) at noon on Sunday at Dr. G. Edward Rudloff Pool.

San Diego State is the second to last conference game for Santa Clara.

"Both games this weekend are big, but San Diego State is a conference game, so that's really where our focus has been this week," Santa Clara head coach Keith Wilbur said. "Last weekend, we struggled offensively, so we've been working on better execution versus different types of defenses, and also having a more aggressive scoring mentality."

The Broncos demonstrated their offensive strength earlier this year in the Santa Clara Invitational. In the matchup against Sonoma State, the Broncos prevailed 9-3.

"We did beat Sonoma State, but that was earlier in the season, and I expect they will be stronger," Wilbur said. "We'll be traveling and playing in their pool, and it's tougher playing them on the road.  It should be good competition."

Next up, the Broncos host Pacific the following Saturday at noon. This is Santa Clara's final regular-season game before the GCC Championships in Los Angeles.
