Women's Water Polo Player Named to NCAA Committee

SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Hannah Buck of Santa Clara women's water polo was selected by the West Coast Conference to serve as the league's NCAA Division I Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) representative.

The junior begins a two-year stint in 2018-19, taking over for Jimmy Gehrels of Pepperdine men's volleyball.

Buck was an All-Golden Coast Conference choice the last two years and a member of the league's 2015 All-Freshman team. She led the team in goals the last two years.

The Division I National SAAC consists of one student-athlete from each of the 32 conferences. Members are selected from a pool of three nominees from each of the represented conferences.

The Division I SAAC reports directly to the Division I Leadership Council, and one member participates in each meeting. Additionally, SAAC members are represented on cabinets and committees within the Division I governance structure. It is through these mechanisms that NCAA Division I student-athletes offer input and assist in shaping the proposed legislation by which their division is governed.
