SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Goals by Hannah Bradley and Marissa Joerke midway through the fourth quarter helped Azusa Pacific pull away from Santa Clara women's water polo to claim an 9-5 win on Friday.

Milena Guzmán Ortiz scored twice for the Cougars (16-13, 3-3 Golden Coast Conference) who have won their last two after dropping four in a row.

Hailey Eberle had a goal and an assist for the Broncos (8-14, 1-4) who rallied within one goal in the third, but were unable to get the equalizer.

Annalise Batcheller scored late in the second quarter to build the Azusa Pacific lead to 5-1, but Santa Clara reeled off the next three capped Emma Allegrucci's power play goal midway through the third.

However, the Broncos were unable to cash in on their next three attempts with the extra attacker and the Cougars connected twice and scored on a 5-meter attempt in the final 9 minutes of the game.

Bradley scored with the extra attacker with 5:53 left in the game and Joerke's strike less than one minute later made it 8-4.

Olivia Lott earned the win in net for the Cougars.

Each team was 3-for-8 on the power play.
