Women’s Water Polo Claims 13-8 Win Against Cal State Monterey Bay

SEASIDE, Calif. – Santa Clara women's water polo led from start to finish behind a balanced offensive attack in defeating Cal State Monterey Bay.

In her first-career start Lauren Baglietto scored four times and Mia Battilega, Natalie Brauser and Gabi Sicat each tallied two goals for the Broncos in Saturday's 13-8 victory over the Otters.

Lydia Dadd posted 10 saves in her three-plus quarters of action and Santa Clara (2-1) connected on 5 of 9 attempts with the man advantage.

Olivia Centis posted three goals and Angela Steele added two for the Otters in their season opener.

The Broncos scored the first four goals of the game and pushed the lead to 11-4 late in the third quarter after the Otters crept with two goals midway through the second period.

Sicat also had two assists as did Kelly Frumkin and Maddy Gomes. Maggie Oys drew four kickouts.
