Santa Clara competed in four home games last weekend in the Santa Clara Women's Water Polo Tournament. The Broncos defeated Cal State Monterey Bay, 12-4, after dropping games to Cal State East Bay, Marist and Brown University earlier in the tournament.
The Bulldogs have faced several top-20 teams this season with wins against Arizona State (#9) and San Jose State (#12).
The Broncos and Bulldogs are meeting for the first time this season. Fresno State defeated Santa Clara, 22-7, in their last matchup in April 2021.
