Women's Water Polo Earns Split on Final Day of Claremont Convergence Tournament

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Santa Clara women's water polo fell to Villanova, 11-5, before defeating Siena, 13-6, on Saturday.

The Broncos (4-11) secured a 4-2 lead over the Wildcats (11-8) midway through the second period, including two goals from Chloe Morrison

The Wildcats responded with six consecutive goals, giving them at an 8-4 lead heading into the fourth quarter. 

Mia Battilega posted a goal in the fourth period, but the Broncos were unable to make up the deficit. 

Liyara Senadheera totaled eight saves for the Broncos. 

Santa Clara 13, Siena 6

Elle Fredrickson had four goals, and Chloe Morrison had three in Saturday's 13-6 victory over Siena. 

The Broncos came out strong with the first six goals of the game, leaving the Saints (3-10) scoreless in the first half. 

The Saints responded with six goals in the second half, but the Broncos were able to protect their lead. 

Lauren Voss totaled four assists, and Mia Battilega drew two kickouts.

Liyara Senadheera had seven blocks, and Grace Kavanagh had five.

Lauren Baglietto, Mia Battilega, Maddie Clough, Chloe Morrison, Kelly Frumkin, Lauren Voss, and Liyara Senadheera started both games.
