Women's Water Polo Celebrates Senior Day

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Senior goalkeeper Grace Kavanagh made the most of her opportunity in the net in her final home game as a Bronco. The Dundee, Ore., product got her first start of the season and played all 32 minutes in the goal en route to making seven saves against Indiana on Saturday. Unfortunately, the Hoosiers were able to pull away with a 13-4 victory as Santa Clara women's water polo dropped to 7-18 on the year. 

Kavanagh was one of seven Bronco seniors that was honored prior to the start of the match, joined by Lauren Baglietto, Mia Battilega, Annika Disney, Anuhea Ledesma, Kelly Frumkin and Lauren Voss

Battilega finished the game with three points on two goals and an assist to lead Santa Clara. Baglietto drew four exclusions and Maddie Clough had a pair of assists. Frumkin and Voss finished with a goal apiece.

The game was tied at 2-2 after the opening period before Indiana (14-12) was able to take a decisive 7-3 lead at the halftime break which they would hold on to for the remainder of the game. Tina Doherty, Kallie White and Katherine Hawkins each scored three goals in the win.
