Shawn Nestor spent six years directing the communication efforts for Santa Clara Athletics.

He served the as assistant athletics director for four years before being promoted to associate athletics director in June 2019.

In addition to serving as the contact for a variety of sports, including men's basketball, Nestor oversaw the department's video production, social media and website.

Nestor joined the Broncos from the University of Texas in September 2015, after working the previous three years as an assistant director of the athletics media relations office.

In his time at Texas, Nestor was a secondary contact for the football program and served as the media coordinator for the Texas Relays, one of the premier track and field meets in the nation. He also served as a liaison to the Longhorn Network, directed the social media efforts for the football team, and provided oversight of content creation for the football page of TexasSports.com.

Prior to working at Texas he was associate director of media relations at the University of Maryland from November 2006 through July 2012. There he served as the primary contact for the football program. He also assisted in producing video content for the Maryland Athletics website.

Nestor worked at the University of Akron from April 2002 until November 2006. There, he oversaw the daily operation of the media relations staff and was the primary contact for football. Nestor was the editor for all internal and external communications for the department of the athletics, including the production and design of all media guides and game programs.

Prior to Akron, Nestor served as the primary media contact for men's basketball as well as men's and women's golf at Kansas State from August 2000 through April 2002.

Nestor started his career in athletics at Texas as a media relations graduate student assistant in August 1997.

He graduated from Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts, with a bachleor's degree in finance. Prior to working in athletics, Nestor spent nearly 10 years in banking.
