  • Bal, Ensminger Set For U20 European Championship

    Bronco fans have not yet had the opportunity to see Jake Ensminger and Adama Bal suit up for the red and white just yet, but they will have the chance to watch them play against each other. The duo is set to compete in the FIBA U20 European Championship in Herkalion, Crete, which takes place July 8-16. Ensminger will suit up as a member of Team Germany while Bal is playing for Team France. 
  • Men's Basketball Finalizes 2023-24 Roster

    The 2023-24 Santa Clara men’s basketball roster has officially been finalized. A total of eight newcomers consisting of five transfers and three freshmen will join the Broncos for the upcoming season.

    For the second-consecutive year, Santa Clara men’s basketball has produced a first round selection in the NBA Draft. This year it is Brandin Podziemski, the 2022-23 WCC Co-Player of the Year, who was picked 19th overall by the Golden State Warriors.

    Former Santa Clara men's basketball star Jalen Williams put a cap on his phenomenal rookie season with the Oklahoma City Thunder by earning a spot on the 2022-23 NBA All-Rookie First Team. The league made the announcement on Monday. 
  • Men's Basketball To Play In 2023 Emerald Coast Classic

    Santa Clara men's basketball is one of four teams that will headline the 2023 Emerald Coast Classic basketball tournament, presented by Global Sports. The annual tournament will be played Thanksgiving weekend, Nov. 24-24, at Raider Arena on the campus of Northwest Florida State College in Niceville, Fla. 
  • Podziemski Named 2023 Lou Henson Award All-America

    The postseason accolades for Brandin Podziemski continue to pour in. His list addition to the list of accomplishments is a spot on the 2023 Lou Henson Award All-America Team. It's the second-straight season that a Bronco has earned a spot on the prestigious team, with Jalen Williams doing so in 2021-22.

    The Santa Clara University men's basketball team forced a miss on defense, got the rebound and had 11 seconds to tie the game or take the lead, but a missed layup and defensive rebound for Sam Houston allowed the Bearkats to escape with a 58-56 victory at Leavey Center and advance.
  • More Postseason Awards Roll In For Podziemski

    Sophomore guard Brandin Podziemski earned two more postseason honors on Tuesday. The WCC Co-Player of the Year was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District 9 First Team and was also an All-District pick by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA).

The Broncos are set to take part in their second-straight National Invitation Tournament (NIT) and will begin by hosting the opening round on Wednesday, March 15, against Sam Houston of the Western Athletic Conference. The game is slated for a 6 p.m. PT tip and will be streamed live on ESPN+ (subscription required).

    For the second-consecutive season, Santa Clara men's basketball is playing in the National Invitation Tournament (NIT). The Broncos were selected to host the opening round and will welcome No. 2 seed Sam Houston State to the Leavey Center for a 6 p.m. PT tip on Wednesday, March 15.

    For the second consecutive season, Santa Clara men's basketball has a finalist for the Lou Henson National Player of the Year Award, which is presented annually to the top mid-major player in Division I. Sophomore guard Brandin Podziemski was named one of 30 finalists for the 2022-23 award, as announced on Thursday. 
  • Men's Hoops Falls to Rival USF in Double OT Thriller at WCC Tournament

    The No. 6 seed San Francisco came from behind on multiple occasions, finally holding off the third-seeded Santa Clara University men's basketball team in double overtime with a 93-87 victory in the quarterfinals of the 2023 University Credit Union West Coast Conference Basketball Tournament at Orleans Arena.
  • Men's Hoops Opens WCC Tournament Tomorrow

    Santa Clara men's basketball has all the momentum after closing the regular season on a seven-game win streak, and they will look to translate that momentum into another win on Saturday evening in the quarterfinal of the 2023 University Credit Union WCC Basketball Tournament. The Broncos received a double bye for the second-consecutive year and will face the winner of Pacific and San Francisco in tomorrow's game, which will be carried live on ESPN2 at 9:30 p.m. PT.

Sophomore guard Brandin Podziemski took home a share of the league’s top honor as WCC Men’s Basketball Co-Player of the Year, splitting the award with Gonzaga’s Drew Timme.

The sophomore split the honors with LMU's Cam Shelton, making the duo co-players of the week.

    Santa Clara men's basketball continued to roll in their final home game of the season, defeating Pepperdine 91-82 on Thursday evening to pick up their sixth-straight victory. The Broncos' six-game win streak is their longest in conference play since winning six-straight in 2006-07 and 22 wins on the year is tied for the fifth-most in program history.

    For the third time this season, Santa Clara men's basketball sophomore guard Brandin Podziemski is the Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the West Coast Conference. Podziemski earns the award for the first time since the beginning of the season when he won back-to-back weeks to open the season. 
  • Broncos Take Care Of Portland For 21st Victory

    It took Santa Clara men’s basketball just 29 games to match their win total from last season. The Broncos picked up their 21st victory of the season on Saturday evening with a dominating performance at the Chili’s Center, defeating Portland 103-84. The win is Santa Clara’s fifth-straight dating back to their road victory over San Francisco on Feb. 4.
  • Broncos Complete Historic Sweep Over BYU With 81-74 Victory

    It was a night to remember for Santa Clara men’s basketball in what will be their final regular-season game against BYU as members of the same conference. For the first time since December 2, 1972, the Broncos went into Provo and came away victorious over the Cougars, breaking a streak of 10-straight road losses with an 81-74 victory on Thursday evening inside the Marriott Center. The win also secured the regular-season sweep over BYU for just the first time since 1961-62.

  • Resilient Broncos Hold On For 71-69 Win Over LMU

    For the second-straight game, Santa Clara men's basketball used a big second half to erase a halftime deficit. This time it was to the tune of a sensational 76.5 percent scoring clip on 13-of-17 shooting as the Broncos won a back-and-forth affair that came down to the final possession against LMU. SCU won 71-69 to improve to 19-8 and 7-5 in WCC play. 
  • Big Second Half Lifts Broncos Over San Diego, 80-75

    It was a true tale of two halves for Santa Clara men's basketball on Thursday evening. One half saw the Broncos struggle to find any rhythm and shoot a paltry 37.5 percent. The other half saw a rejuvenated offense that shot a blistering 56.3 percent, including 64.3 percent from beyond the arc. Fortunately for SCU, the better half came later and resulted in the Broncos erasing a double-digit deficit en route to picking up a big 80-75 victory over San Diego inside the Leavey Center.
