Jackson Gion is in his second season as the video coordinator for Santa Clara men's basketball.
Hired in May 2021, Gion is in his second stint with the program, having served as a graduate student manager in both 2018-19 and 2019-20.
He was a member of the basketball team at Sonoma State where he was voted the 2016-17 Male Newcomer Athlete of the Year and was also All-CCAA honorable mention that year. While with the Seawolves, he was on the Dean’s List in 2017 and 2018.
Gion played in 29 games with one start his first year and averaged 6.7 points per game while knocking down 49 3-pointers.
In his senior campaign, he played in 25 games and started 15 while scoring 9.0 points and 2.9 rebounds per game. He connected on 54 3-pointers that season while averaging 27.7 minutes per game.
Gion had prior coaching experience at Sonoma State Summer Camp during 2016 and with the AAU Team Esface from June 2015-July 2015.
At SSU he was a counselor that coached and executed group drills. With Esface, he was a counselor that worked with grade levels 4-8. After the summer, he worked as a coach with the team, running skill development sessions twice a week and games on Fridays.
Gion graduated from Sonoma State in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in finance. He also received his associate's degree in business administration from Foothill College in 2016.
