SACRAMENTO, Calif. – For the fourth time in five years, Santa Clara men's rowing Varsity 8 qualified for the IRA National Championships. The Broncos Varsity 8 and 2nd Varsity 8 boats both finished in second place qualifying for the national championship regatta.
The V8 completed its race in a time of 5:57.601, just under two seconds behind the winning boat from UC San Diego.
The 2V8 finished in 6:06.405, six seconds behind UC San Diego.
The 3V8 finished third with a time of 6:22.727, two seconds behind second place Gonzaga and 14 seconds behind winner UC San Diego.
IRAs will be held May 31 through June 2 at Lake Natoma.
