Men's Rowing Qualifies for National Championships With Good Day at Western Sprints

GOLD RIVER, Calif. – Santa Clara men's rowing raced at the Western Sprints on Saturday and qualified for IRA National Championships with a second place finish in the Varsity 8 race.

"We had a solid race in the Varsity 8, UCSD just had more speed than us today. We will see them again in two weeks for the IRA National Championship at Lake Mercer in New Jersey. I'm really proud of the team effort today as we took the overall points trophy for the first time since 2017. We are back to training next week for IRAs and ultimately a trip to the Henley Royal Regatta at the end of June."

Director of rowing Jay Farwell
