HENDERSON, Nev. - Santa Clara men's golf finished in seventh place in the West Coast Conference Championship.
Matt McCarty and Jack Avrit were the top finishers for the Broncos at 1-under 215 which placed them in a tie for 22nd.
Santa Clara ended the three-day event at 4-under 860 (290-284-286).
McCarty, playing in his final event with the team, shot a final-round 1-under 71 on Saturday at Reflection Bay Golf Club. He shot 75 in the opening 18 holes and 69 in Friday's second round.
Avrit had rounds of 72-70-73 and flourished on the par-5 holes, posting a total of 7-under for the event. Just two other players were lower over 54 holes.
No. 8-ranked Pepperdine cruised to victory with a tournament-record 49-under 815. BYU was a distant second at 25-under 839. San Francisco rounded out the top three at 22-under.
Clay Feagler of Pepperdine defeated teammate Dylan Menante in a playoff for the individual title. They both finished at 11-under 205.
Oscar Zimmerman and Berk Harvey were each at 6-under 222 for the Broncos to finish in a tie for 34th. Zimmerman had rounds of 78-72-72 and Harvey 71-73-78.
Zack Kaneshiro had the best score in the last 18 holes for Santa Clara. He was inserted into the lineup for the final round and carded a 2-under 70.
Alex Conley was tied for 32nd through the opening two rounds at 2-over 146 (72-74).
