No. 33 Santa Clara Men's Tennis Adds Program BestsJune 08, 2012This season has been one of many, many firsts for the Bronco men's tennis team. On Thursday, a few more firsts came about. The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced its final rankings for the year and the No. 33 Santa Clara men’s tennis squad added more program bests. When the ITA released its final singles and doubles rankings, as well as regional rankings, Santa Clara added more program highs to an already splendid season, including a No. 5 finish in the Northwest Region.

Lamble Set to Play in France over SummerJune 06, 2012Worldwide tennis players debate the toughest surface daily, especially during the French Open, being played in early June. French natives think John Lamble’s game would transfer over well to a true red clay court. The ball travels at a slower pace after colliding with the ground, making points harder to come by.

No. 39 Santa Clara Falls to No. 11 Stanford in the Round of 32May 13, 2012After defeating No. 19 Texas for the school's first-ever win in the men's tennis NCAA Tournament on Saturday, No. 39 Santa Clara could not overcome No. 11 Stanford and fell 4-1 in the Round of 32 in Palo Alto, Calif. on Sunday afternoon.

Santa Clara Men's Tennis Downs Texas for Program's First NCAA Tournament WinMay 12, 2012In its first ever NCAA Tournament appearance, the No. 39 Santa Clara men’s tennis squad downed No. 19 Texas 4-1. The Broncos’ victory was highlighted by two doubles wins and freshman Ilya Osintsev’s two-set victory that ended the bout. The Broncos will play tomorrow at Stanford University against the winner of today’s second match between Stanford and Sacramento State.

WCC Announces Conference Tournament Seeding, All-Academic Tennis TeamApril 23, 2012The West Coast Conference announced the bracket for the WCC men’s tennis tournament on Monday. After sweeping two conference opponents in the last week of the regular season and finishing in second place in the conference, No. 30 Santa Clara was awarded the No. 2 seed and will have first and second-round byes. The conference championship is presented by the Andre Agassi Foundation for Education and is schedule to take place at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, Calif. Apr. 25-28. In addition, junior Thomas Pham collected WCC All-Academic First Team honors.

No. 30 Santa Clara Downs Portland and Gonzaga, Secures Second Place in WCCApril 22, 2012In its final weekend of West Coast Conference play, the No. 30 Santa Clara men’s tennis team tallied two wins in the Northwest and clinched second place in the WCC. The Broncos (21-4; 7-1 WCC) picked up commanding victories over Portland and Gonzaga on their way to all-time program high 21 victories this season.

Muchynski's Clutch Wins Help Broncos To Top 30 RankingApril 19, 2012Bronco junior men’s tennis player Eugene Muchynski has developed into a reliable and clutch performer for the 30th ranked team in the nation. In Santa Clara’s upset 4-3 win over then-No. 19-ranked USD on April 15, Muchynski came through with a key win at No. 5 singles, helping the Broncos defeat a top 20 team for the first time in program history. Muchynski has received high praise from head coach Derek Mills on helping the Broncos win some key matches this year with his singles play as well. 19-4 Santa Clara Racks Up ITA Accolades, Moves to No. 30 NationallyApril 17, 2012After a thrilling upset victory over No. 19 San Diego April 15, the Santa Clara men’s tennis team jumped two spots into the nation’s top-30 teams. In the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings on Apr. 17, the Broncos moved up to No. 30. The Broncos edged the Toreros 4-3 to improve to 19-4 and 5-1 in WCC matches. Senior Day will still be on Sat., April 14 at 1 pm vs. Saint Mary's. Lamble and Osintsev Named West Coast Conference Men's Doubles Team of the Month For MarchApril 05, 2012Upsetting the No. 2 team in the country, the West Coast Conference announced Thursday that Santa Clara's John Lamble and Ilya Osintsev have been named WCC Doubles Team of the Month of March. Lamble and Osintsev are the first Bronco tandem to win the award this year. Katie Le was named the WCC Women's Singles Player of the Month for March as well.

No. 34 Santa Clara Bests USF 7-0April 04, 2012The No. 34 Santa Clara men’s tennis squad improved to 16-4 this season with a 7-0 victory over West Coast Conference and Bay Area foe USF. The Broncos swept singles play and won two doubles matches on the way to the 7-0 win.

Santa Clara Travels to USF, Hosts Cal PolyApril 04, 2012After splitting two West Coast Conference matches last weekend down in LA, No. 34 Santa Clara continues WCC play with a mid-week match at USF. The Broncos will travel to San Francisco, Calif. to battle the Dons on Wednesday and then will host Cal Poly on Sat., April 7 in a non-league match.

No. 31 Broncos Fall to No. 7 PepperdineApril 01, 2012Coming off a 6-1 victory over LMU, No. 31 Santa Clara (15-4; 2-1) dropped its first West Coast Conference match of the year to No. 7 Pepperdine 6-1. Despite the loss, freshman Ilya Osintsev shined on the individual level. Osintsev accounted for both Santa Clara victories.

Santa Clara Men's Tennis Climbs to No. 31, Travels South for Two WCC MatchesMarch 28, 2012After starting West Coast Conference play with a victory over No. 38 BYU, the No. 31 Santa Clara men's tennis program will continue WCC play with two matches in Southern California. The Broncos (14-3; 1-0 WCC) will travel south to face Loyola Marymount and Pepperdine in two conference matches this weekend. The Broncos begin the weekend in Los Angeles, Calif. against LMU on Sat., Mar. 31 before traveling to Malibu, Calif. to face Pepperdine on Sun., Apr. 1.
