Men’s Tennis Signs One Time No. 7 Player in Northern California
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's tennis signed Raunak Sood, the former No. 7 ranked player in northern California of his age group to join the program for the 2020-21 season.  Broncos head coach Niall Angus made the announcement.

Sood is from Los Altos High in Los Altos, California.

"I chose Santa Clara because the tennis program fit exactly what I was looking for. The players were very welcoming and displayed a good work ethic both on and off the court," said Sood.  "I also found both coach Angus and assistant coach Moser to be very knowledgeable and supportive. In addition to the tennis, I thought the campus was very beautiful and I was excited to see the STEM building being built as I am planning on majoring in computer science.  Overall, I am very excited to join SCU from its great tennis program to its dynamic academics."

The right-handed Sood was the National L3 singles winner as well as the Riverside Men's Open doubles winner.  He was also a finalist at the Super Series in singles and at the Grand Cayman G5 ITF in doubles.

"Raunak is someone who we've seen play a lot because he's local.  He really has a lot of potential with a big game and great fundamental structure to his game.  He is hard working and a down to earth player that we think will be successful here at Santa Clara," said Angus.
