Homestand Wraps Up With San Diego State Tuesday for Women's Basketball

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – A three-game homestand concludes for Santa Clara women's basketball Tuesday at 3 p.m. against San Diego State.

The Broncos opened the season with a dominant 98-38 win over Sonoma State Tuesday and a 56-48 win against Nevada Saturday.

SERIES HISTORY
Santa Clara is 3-1 all-time against San Diego State with the first meeting coming in 1981-82. The Broncos took down the Aztecs 48-34 on the road last season.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (2-0) is averaging 77.0 points a game while shooting 49.6-percent from the floor. The Broncos are holding opponents to just 43.0 ppg and 25.9-percent from the field. They also have a 43.0-33.5 edge on the glass.

Tia Hay leads the way with 22.5 ppg and is adding 5.0 rebounds per game and 3.5 steals per game as well. Ashlyn Herlihy averages 10.0 ppg with 7.0 rpg and has added 4.5 assists per game to lead the team. Emily Wolph is scoring 9.0 ppg and leads the way with four 3-pointers while Lauren Yearwood is scoring 8.0 ppg and already has eight blocks.

THE AZTECS
San Diego State (1-0) squeaked out a 58-57 win over Hawaii at home on Friday to open the season. The Aztecs shot 39-percent from the floor but were 7-for-15 from beyond the arc.

Tea Adams led the way with 15 points on 7-for-13 shooting from the field and six rebounds. Sophia Ramos scored 14 while also adding six boards and three assists and Naje Murray added 14 with a team-high four assists and four steals.

Parking: For weekday games, the Leavey Center lot, located on Accolti Way off El Camino Real, is free beginning one hour prior to tipoff. Any other parking facility on campus will be subject to normal daily rates or restrictions, including the main structure, located on Palm Drive.
