Bre Henry completed her third and final season as an assistant coach for Santa Clara beach volleyball in 2021. She was also an assistant coach for SCU's indoor team.

Henry (née Mackie), hired in February 2019, brings NCAA championship experience to the Broncos from her time as a student-athlete and a coach. She was a standout student-athlete for Long Beach State indoor and beach volleyball as a collegian, earning ACVA All-American Honors for the 2014 indoor season and winning the 2013 beach national championship. Henry joined the Broncos on the heels of a two-year tenure with one of the nation's elite programs at Nebraska. She was a graduate assistant for a Cornhusker team that won the 2017 NCAA indoor championship and reached the title match again in 2018.

During Henry's time with Bronco beach, Santa Clara earned eight WCC all-academic nods (two all-academic team selections and six honorable mentions).

The Broncos hit their stride toward the end of the 2020 season, which was shortened due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Santa Clara won three of four matches after the calendar turned from February to March, including a 3-2 victory over Pacific for the first dual win on Mission campus grounds since the opening of the Santa Clara Beach Volleyball Courts in 2018 (March 4). The team followed up that triumph with two-win day at the Big West/WCC Challenge, topping Cal State Bakersfield and Sacramento State. SCU set a program record with six WCC All-Academic honorees.

Henry and associate head coach Jeff Alzina were hired less than a month before the start of the 2019 season. The team posted back-to-back dual victories over conference opponents with 4-1 wins over San Francisco and Pacific at the WCC Midseason Invitational in late March.

During Henry's two seasons with Nebraska, the Cornhuskers went 62-11 while producing four All-Americans and six all-conference selections. In 2017, The Big Red went 32-4 overall and 19-1 in Big Ten play as part of a conference championship and national championship campaign.

Prior to her run at Nebraska, Henry played for the Philippines-based Pocari Sweat Lady Warriors of Shakey's V-League in 2016. Henry and the team claimed the league's 13th Season Reinforced Open Conference championship. Henry also played for VBC Cheseaux in Switzerland from 2015-16.

As a senior at Long Beach State in 2014, Henry hit .303 with 2.84 kills/set and 1.12 blocks/set en route to an AVCA Honorable Mention All-American selection. The 49ers went 27-5 and a perfect 16-0 in Big West play that year. Henry was an NCAA Woman of the Year nominee in 2015.

Henry, a native of Redding, California, studied kinesiology as an undergraduate student at Long Beach State before earning a master's in sports and exercise psychology from Argosy University in 2016 and a master's in education administration from Nebraska in 2017.

"I am very excited about Santa Clara volleyball and the program's future," Henry said upon being hired. "I am grateful to continue to develop as a coach under Coach Lindsey and the supportive administration."

Head Coach Erin Lindsey on Henry: "Bre is an up-and-coming young coach who I expect to make an immediate impact in our gym and in recruiting the best and brightest to Santa Clara. As a former NCAA student-athlete and professional volleyball player, she will be an exceptional role model for our current team and future prospects. Being a part of the 2017 Nebraska Cornhusker national championship staff, she has perspective of the work it takes to put a team in position to win championships. Bre will take on the role of recruiting coordinator, a natural fit with her strong communication skills and ease at relationship building."
