AS A SENIOR IN 2004: An honorable mention All-WCC selection... received the Coaches Award, an honor voted by teammates... started 24 contests at forward and saw action in all 25 contests... netted five goals and three assists for 13 points, fourth best on the team... earned All-Tournament honors at Rutgers Classic... shot against Rutgers in the final minutes almost proved to be the equalizer... attempt got past keeper and was rolling toward goal line when a Knight defender saved the score at the last second... scored one goal and two assists against Rhode Island... all four points were earned in the match's first 28 minutes... scored in the second half against Yale... drew a foul in the box that led to game-winning PK against CS Fullerton... drew a foul in the box that was awarded a penalty kick against No. 7 California... scored in the 27th minute at Saint Mary's... scored game-winner on Senior Night against Pepperdine to clinch WCC Championship... earned WCC's Co-Player of the Week honor for that effort... assisted on the game-winner against Stanford in the second round... a key factor in starting the play that led to the game-winner at No. 1 North Carolina... added Broncos' second goal against Illinois in NCAA quarterfinal with a side volley off a rebound.

AS A JUNIOR IN 2003: Started 14 matches and saw action in 15 contests... missed seven matches due to a hamstring injury, returning against Cal Poly... also missed final two matches after tearing ACL in right knee during a Nov. 18 practice... had five goals and four assists for 14 points... netted first career hat trick at San Jose State, scoring all three goals in the first 29 minutes of contest, including the game-winner... added an assist in the second half... assisted on two goals within one minute of each other at San Diego... scored fourth goal against Pepperdine... added game-winner at Gonzaga to help the Broncos clinch their third straight league title.

AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2002: An honorable mention All-WCC team selection... also earned SCU's Coaches' Award... started against Stanford, despite tearing ACL just four months earlier... was expected to miss the first month of the season... started 22 of the 24 contests she played... registered three goals and four assists for 10 points... cracked ribs on her right side against Clemson... sat out match at Cal, but returned and started against Cal Poly two days later... broke nose against Tennessee, but continued playing... the injury requires surgery, but no date was set during the season... played with a face mask against UCLA but decided against using it for the rest of the season... assisted on Leslie Osborne's second goal against the Toreros... earned two assists against San Jose State... scored first goal of the season against San Francisco on the counterattack... scored game-winner against fourth-ranked Portland in the 10th minute... was named the WCC Player of the Week for that performance... added a score against Arizona State in the second round of the NCAA Tournament... assisted on Veronica Zepeda's first goal against North Carolina in the College Cup semifinal.

AS A FRESHMAN IN 2001: Earned honorable mention-team All-WCC honors... scored first collegiate goal in team's season opener against Cal Poly... saw action in all 25 matches... started 12 matches, including her first against California and both College Cup contests... capped Bronco scoring against Fresno State with the team's sixth goal of the night... added a goal against USF and two against Gonzaga... posted 11 points on the season from five goals and one assist.

OLYMPIC DEVELOPMENT TEAM EXPERIENCE: A two-year member of the Region IV (West) ODP team... a four-year member of the Cal North State Team.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played for head coaches John Tomei and Rusty Taylor at Carondolet High School in Concord, Calif... scored an overtime game-winning goal in the 1999 NCS Championship to give Carondolet its third straight title and a No. 1 national ranking... a four-time All-Bay View League honoree and took the league MVP honors as a senior... was also the team's captain and leading scorer as a senior, taking Carondolet to their second NCS title while ranking in the top five nationally... while playing club with the AC Thunderbirds, was a part of three State Cup titles and was the leading scorer in the 2000 State Cup Regional Tournament... finished club career as a member of the Pleasanton Rage... speed could also be seen on the track, where she owns her school's record in the 200 meter event, racing in 25.7 seconds.

PERSONAL: Full name is Briana Lynn Horvath... born September 10, 1982 in Kansas City, Mo... daughter of Ron and Judy Horvath... father played soccer and baseball at Benedictine... has two sisters, Megan and Nicole... Megan was an SCU graduate and played for the WUSA's Bay Area CyberRays in 2001... majoring in marketing.
