SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara softball hits the road and plays Sacramento State in a doubleheader Friday. The first game is set for 11:30 a.m. with the second scheduled to start at 2 p.m.

Last week, the Broncos picked up a 4-0 win over Stanford in their home opener night but fell to California Baptist.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara's (1-2) offense is led by Ashley Trierweiler who is hitting .500 with a .667 on-base percentage and a .667 slugging percentage. She has scored three runs with a double. Emma Bickford is hitting .444 with a home run and four RBIs and Sarah Ellersick had hit two doubles.

Regan Dias has tossed 18 innings over three starts. She has tossed two complete games and a shutout. Liyah Lopez has also appeared in the circle, but just for 1/3 of an inning.

THE HORNETS
Sacramento State (3-8) has scored 23 runs, an average of 2.1 per game, while hitting .182/.279/.241 as a team with nine doubles and two home runs.

Lewa Day leads the team in batting average with a mark of .273 and on-base percentage at .556 thanks to 11 walks. She has added two home runs and two doubles while scoring five runs with seven runs scored. Alex Parish is hitting .231 with two RBIs and a run scored and Katie Vretzos hits .222 with three RBIs and three runs scored.

Marissa Bertuccio has started seven games with three complete games and two shutouts. She has tossed a team high 32 2/3 innings with 21 strikeouts and has a 2.79 ERA. Carley Morfey has thrown 14 2/3 innings and Alyssa Nunez has thrown 13 1/3.
