Women’s Tennis Beats Hawaii Pacific, 4-2
HONOLULU – Santa Clara women's tennis beat Hawaii Pacific, 4-2 on Wednesday at the University of Hawaii Tennis Complex in a nonconference match.  
 
The Broncos (4-8) picked up the doubles point and finished the match with three consecutive singles wins to close out the match to secure the victory against Division II's No. 6-ranked Sharks (8-4).  
 
Maddie Pothoff and Elvena Gevargiz secured the doubles point with a 6-4 triumph over Elodie Busson and Elisa Elhadj on court one.  
 
Santa Clara fell behind 2-1 in the team score dropping the singles matches on courts five and two before reeling off three straight wins.  
 
On court three, Jamie Schroer leveled the match with a straight set victory over Mihoki Miyahara, 6-1, 6-4. 
 
Nadine Del Carmen put the Broncos up 3-2 with a 6-3, 7-6 (7-3) triumph over Heloise Le Normand on court six.  
 
Pothoff closed out the match needing three sets to take down Elodie Busson, 6-1, 3-6, 6-2 to clinch the match on court one.  
 
Schroer and Del Carmen who were paired in doubles to win the first match of the day for the Broncos, and Pothoff each won twice, in both doubles and singles.  
 
Santa Clara returns to action on Thursday to play the University of Hawaii at the same venue.  First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. Pacific Time.
