Call Fall Invitational Full Results
BERKELEY, Calif. - Four Santa Clara women's tennis players won their opening round singles matches at the Cal Fall Invitational on Friday to start the fall season.
Kalinic won her match over BYU's Emmie Moore, 6-3, 6-3, in the blue draw while Giulia Hayer defeated Sacramento State's Weronika Ejsmont, 6-1, 6-2, in the gold draw. Hayer and Kalinic teamed up to win their opening round doubles match in the blue draw over Cal Poly's Delanie Dunkle and Peyton Dunkle, 8-2, before falling in the quarterfinals to Stanford's Connie Ma and Alexandra Yepifanova, 8-4.
Varya Zlotnik took care of Sacramento State's Shauna Casey, 7-6 (8-6), 6-4, in the singles white draw while Dasee Carter picked up her win after Alexis Johnson of Sacramento State retired.
The four Bronco singles winners will play in Saturday's round of 16 matches.
