    In its third week of indoor training, Santa Clara's volleyball is already fast at work to make improvements for next year. The team will be looking to clinch its third NCAA tournament bid in four years in 2015.
  • 2015 Indoor Schedule Released; Sand Finishes No. 18 Nationally

    Looking for its third NCAA tournament bid in four years, Santa Clara volleyball will open the 2015 season at home Aug. 28 and travel to New Mexico, Texas and Sacramento for preseason tournaments before starting West Coast Conference play at home on Sept. 24 vs. San Diego. After finishing with a final sand ranking of No. 18 nationally, the women have come indoors for four weeks of training beginning this week.

    With a 3-2 loss to No. 14 Stanford, No. 18 Santa Clara wrapped its spring sand season with a 7-7 record. The Broncos posted a 2-6 record vs. ranked teams this year, including defeating Saint Mary’s twice.

    No. 16 Santa Clara won 4-1 at Sacramento State on Wednesday. The Broncos are off until next weekend when they compete in the Hermosa Open in Southern California. The Broncos move to 6-2 with the win.

    Santa Clara's sand volleyball team, ranked No. 16 nationally, finished as the runner-up at the Santa Cruz Duals on Saturday on Main Beach in Santa Cruz. Posting a 2-1 record, the Broncos lost in the finals to No. 3 Hawaii. The Broncos are now 5-2 this season.

  • Sand Volleyball Ranked No. 18 As It Begins Preseason Practice

    The Santa Clara sand volleyball team opens the year at No. 18 in DiG magazine’s 2015 preseason poll released Jan. 21. Proving the strength of sand volleyball in California, there are four West Coast Conference teams ranked in the top 10: Pepperdine (1), LMU (5), Saint Mary’s (7), Pacific (10).
  • Volleyball's Successful Season Included 15th NCAA Tournament Appearance And 11 WCC Honorees

    On the final day of action in 2013, the Santa Clara volleyball team, up 2-0 vs. Pepperdine, was primed to end the year on a high note. But that momentum was cut short. Santa Clara would go on to fall in five sets, finish the season with 11 wins and head into the offseason with the bitter feeling of defeat resonating inside each competitor. Something needed to change.

    Eugene, Ore. – Playing in the school’s 15th NCAA tournament, Santa Clara lost 3-0 at No. 13 Oregon. Set scores were 15-25, 17-25 and 16-25. Santa Clara finishes the year at 22-10. Oregon is 22-9 and advances to the second round to play LSU.

    The Santa Clara volleyball team received the school's 15th NCAA tournament bid on Sunday and will play at No. 13 Oregon at 7 pm on Thurs., Dec. 4. LSU and Oklahoma will play in the match prior to that and the winners will advance to a 4 pm match on Fri., Dec. 5 at Oregon.
  • Volleyball Tops Saint Mary's 3-0 on Senior Night; NCAA Tournament Berths Announced Sunday

    In the final game of the regular season, on Senior Night, Santa Clara volleyball took down Saint Mary’s 3-0 in the Leavey Center. It was their second straight win over the Gaels. Set scores were 25-18, 25-22, and 25-15. Santa Clara is 22-9 and 12-6 in the WCC. Saint Mary’s is 12-19 and 5-13 in the WCC.
  • Volleyball Wraps Up Regular Season Tuesday vs. Saint Mary's on Senior Night

    Getting set to wrap-up the regular season, Santa Clara volleyball hosts Saint Mary’s on Tues., Nov. 25 at 6 p.m. for Senior Day. Earlier this year the Broncos took down the Gaels 3-1 on the road.

  • Volleyball Finishes Off USF In Three

    Led by senior Taylor Milton, who had 17 kills, hitting .484 with five aces, Santa Clara took care of San Francisco 3-0 in the Leavey Center on Thursday night. Set scores were 25-18, 25-22 and 26-24. Santa Clara is 21-9 and 11-6 in the WCC. USF is 12-17 and 5-12 in the WCC.
  • Volleyball Hosts USF on Thursday

    Santa Clara volleyball hosts one home match this week and it's a big one! The Broncos welcome Bay Area rival, San Francisco, at 6 pm on Thurs., Nov. 20 in the Leavey Center. Santa Clara will be looking to avenge its 3-0 loss to the Dons on Sept. 26 in San Francisco.
