    The Association of College Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) announced its annual All-Academic Team on Tuesday, and Santa Clara women's water polo was well-represented with 21 total student-athletes earning a spot on the prestigious list.

    Santa Clara women's water polo had 14 players earn spots on the 2021-22 Golden Coast Conference All-Academic team. A total of 158 players from the league were recognized across both men's and women's teams.

    Santa Clara women's water polo senior goalkeeper Grace Kavanagh made eight saves to keep things competitive from start to finish, but ultimately the 6-seeded Broncos were unable to pull off the upset against 3-seed LMU, falling to the Lions 9-4 in the opening round of the Golden Coast Conference Championship Tournament.

  • Lauren Baglietto Named Second Team All-GCC

    Santa Clara women's water polo senior center Lauren Baglietto earned All-Golden Coast Conference honors for the first time of her career after an outstanding year in the pool for the Broncos. The Fremont native earned a spot on the All-GCC Second Team, as announced by the conference on Tuesday.

    Behind a career-best game from freshman Kate Rodman and solid play in the net once again from senior Grace Kavanagh, Santa Clara women's water polo closed out the regular season by giving No. 16 Pacific everything they could handle in a hard-fought 12-9 loss on Friday afternoon.

    Santa Clara will look to close the season with a victory over the 11-10 No. 16 Pacific Tigers, who have locked up a No. 2 seed in the Golden Coast Conference Championships with a 5-1 league record. The Broncos are 7-18 and 2-4 in league play. 
  • Women's Water Polo Celebrates Senior Day

    Senior goalkeeper Grace Kavanagh made the most of her opportunity in the net in her final home game as a Bronco. The Dundee, Ore., product got her first start of the season and played all 32 minutes in the goal en route to making seven saves against Indiana on Saturday. Unfortunately, the Hoosiers were able to pull away with a 13-4 victory as Santa Clara women's water polo dropped to 7-18 on the year.

  • Allie Lamb and Will Grant Named Water Polo Assistant Coaches

    Allie Lamb and Will Grant have officially been named assistant coaches for Santa Clara water polo. Lamb will work with the women while Grant will work with the men. The Broncos made the official announcement on Friday.
  • Broncos Drop Friday Game At Cal State East Bay, 14-8

    Santa Clara women's water polo dropped Friday's game against Cal State East Bay, 14-8. The Broncos are now 7-18 overall with two regular-season games remaining. 
  • Women's Water Polo Takes On Stanford Wednesday

    Santa Clara will make the short drive up to the Farm to take on the top-ranked Cardinal. Game time is set for 5:00 p.m. PT and will be streamed live on the Pac-12 Network. The Broncos are 7-15 overall with a 2-4 mark in conference play, their most wins in Golden Coast Conference play since going 3-4 in 2017.

  • Women's Water Polo To Host Azusa Pacific, LMU This Weekend

    Santa Clara will host two of their last three home matches this weekend beginning Friday against Azusa Pacific before making the quick turnaround to host LMU on Saturday. The Broncos are 7-13 overall with a 2-2 mark in conference play, their most wins in Golden Coast Conference play since going 3-4 in 2017.

    Santa Clara women's water polo took down Cal Baptist, 9-8, on Friday in their first of two-straight days of competition in SoCal. The win is the Broncos' second in conference play this season and their fourth total win in their last five games.
