Cross Country/Track & Field Adds Luisa Westley as Assistant Coach

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara cross country/track & field has hired Luisa Westley as an assistant coach. Westley has spent the last two seasons as a volunteer assistant for the Broncos.

In her time at Santa Clara Westley has worked directly with both the men and women of both programs on student-athlete development, strength and conditioning, and recruiting.

Westley joins the Broncos after two years as an assistant cross country/track & field coach at Notre Dame de Namur from 2018-20 under head coach Sean Smith. While at NDNU, she assisted the Argo women's and men's cross country teams to their highest finishes in school history at conference and regional meets. On the track, Westley guided NDNU runners who set school records at all distances from 800m up to 10000m, helped the men's program win its first two individual conference titles and assisted the Argo's first runner to make it to nationals and represent the United States at the Pan American U20 Athletic Championships.

She ran cross country/track & field at Southern Oregon and graduated in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in outdoor adventure leadership, then went on to earn a Master of Kinesiology with an emphasis in exercise physiology from San Jose State.
