• The Broncos have to replace the production of their top four hitters from last season who all hit over .286. • Cole Kitchen leads the returners in 2021 ERA with a 3.58 mark. He appeared in 16 games and made four starts while tossing 50 1/3 innings. Alex Reelfs tossed 42 1/3 in 14 games out of the bullpen and picked up a pair of saves.
• The Broncos will rely on three grad transfers in 2022. Catcher Cal Christofori comes from Yale, RHP Drake Davis comes from Minnesota, and IF Alex Lambeau comes from LMU.
• Santa Clara also welcomes 13 freshmen in Nick Bacura, Karthik Gondy, Thomas Gould, Blake Hammond, Robert Hipwell, Nolan Lopez, Luke Mansy, Will Pappas, Sam Smith, Nico Stanley, Johnny Tarantino, Mike Villani, and Malcolm Williams.
• The Broncos face a tough schedule featuring four postseason teams from 2021 in Stanford, Arizona State, Gonzaga, and TCU. The Cardinal made it to the College World Series. They will also take on Power 5 teams USC, Cal, Texas A&M, Washington State, and Arizona State.
• Santa Clara opened its season losing two of three at USC, taking the finale.
