Baseball Wins Midweek Game Against San Jose State

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – In a back-and-forth game, Santa Clara came away with a 10-9 win over San Jose State on Tuesday night.

The scoring started right away as both teams scored two in the first and one in the second. Santa Clara responded with one in the third before San Jose State got two in the top of the fourth and retook the lead. A four-spot in the bottom of the fourth for the Broncos stretched the lead to 8-5 but the Sparts had an answer, scoring three times in the top of the sixth to once again bring things even.

Santa Clara finally took the lead for good in the bottom of the sixth on an RBI ground out from Nick Poss. In the eighth, they added an insurance run on a home run from Eamonn Lance that proved huge as San Jose State got one in the ninth.
