More Postseason Awards Roll In For Podziemski

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Sophomore guard Brandin Podziemski earned two more postseason honors on Tuesday. The WCC Co-Player of the Year was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District 9 First Team and was also an All-District pick by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA).

Podziemski is the first Bronco to earn First Team NABC All-District honors since Jared Brownridge in 2016-17. It is the second-straight season that SCU has had a representative on the NABC All-District first or second teams with Jalen Williams earning second team honors at the conclusion of last season.

Podziemski is also just the second player in program history to be recognized by the USBWA on their annual All-District teams joining John Bryant in 2008-09.

In addition to being named WCC Co-Player, Podziemski also earned First Team All-WCC honors and was named the WCC's Newcomer of the Year. The Greenfield, Wisc. product is averaging 19.9 points, 8.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game, and has posted a conference-best 13 double-doubles. That includes five-straight to close out the season. Podziemski, who won a school-record four WCC Player of the Week awards, has scored 20 or more points in 15 games with four 30-point outings. He is one of just three players in NCAA D1 to average 19 points, eight rebounds and three assists per contest this season.
