Two Men's Rowers Named IRCA Scholar Athletes

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's rowing had a pair named 2021 Intercollegiate Rowing Coaches Association (IRCA) Scholar Athletes. Martin London and Ian Whiton were the two Broncos to be honored.

In order to be named a "scholar athlete", rowers and coxswains must have met the following criteria:

  • Athletes from all IRCA Member Schools are eligible
  • Athletes must be in second year or more of eligibility
  • Athletes must have competed in your program's top 3 boats during the current season or raced at the 2021 IRA Championship
  • Athletes must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA through fall semester

London graduated in June with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He had a 3.901 through the end of the winter quarter. He was part of the Broncos Varsity 8 boat.

Whiton, a junior, has a 3.889 GPA as a Political Science major. He was a part of the team's 2nd Varsity Eight boat.
