NOTES

• Jay Farwell was promoted to director of rowing in September 2021 and will oversee both the men's and women's rowing programs at Santa Clara. He has spent the last 10 seasons as the head coach for the men.
• From June 29-July 3 the Santa Clara will take part in the Henley Royal Regatta in Henley-on-the-Thames. The Broncos were there in 2017.
• Santa Clara began the season with an exhibition against Stanford on February 26.
• The first regular season of the meet was the Las Vegas Invitational March 5-6.
• Santa Clara took on Stanford last time out on March 26.
• The Broncos finished the regular portion of their schedule at the Ky Ebright Invitational on April 10.
• On April 30-May 1, Santa Clara was at WIRAs.
• Santa Clara was at Western Sprints on May 15.

"The team is looking forward to another trip to Lake Mercer in New Jersey to attend the 119th IRA National Championship Regatta. Our Varsity 8 and 2nd Varsity 8 will compete starting with heats and reps on Friday, semifinals on Saturday morning, followed by finals on Sunday morning. This is a great opportunity for us to line-up with the best collegiate teams in the country. The guys have put in a tremendous amount of effort and work to get to this point and now it all comes down to execution on race day.

We have seven seniors making the trip this year: JT Winston, Brendan Zhou, Seth Hanson, Griffin Eger, Reed Lower, Will Chesner, and Powell Clark. This group of seniors has played a huge part in our program's competitiveness and continue success over their years on the Mission campus. During their time at Santa Clara, our program has qualified for the IRA National Championship each year with the exception of the 2020 Championship which was cancelled due to the Covid pandemic. We are incredibly proud of this class of seniors and thank them for their commitment to Santa Clara Rowing.

We also have a number of guys competing at their first IRA National Championship Regatta: JT Winston, James Lilly, Will Chesner, Corrado Moy, Nick Kostanecki, Sam Seter, Luke Shoenberger, Nick Love, Connor Menke, John Stephenson, Steffen Cuneo, David Cureton, and Parker Mead. All but two of them will be coming back next year and the experience of competing at the IRA Regatta will certainly benefit our team for the 2022-23 season."
