• The Broncos qualified for IRAs with a good race at Western Sprints on May 13.
• Santa Clara had a good showing at WIRAs April 29-30.
• The Broncos were at the Chula Vista Invitational April 15-16.
• Santa Clara raced at the Ky Ebright Invitational April 8-9.
• April 1-2 the Broncos were at the Stanford Invitational.
• Santa Clara was at the Newport Challenge Cup on March 4.
• The season began with a scrimmage against Stanford on February 25.
• Last season the Broncos Varsity 8 boat finished fifth in the 4th Level Final at the IRA National Championships, 23rd in the nation. The 2V8, also in the 4th Level Final, finished first, 19th in the nation.
• At WIRAs, the Varsity 8 won the Grand Final while the Varsity 4 finished fifth in its Grand Final.
• Santa Clara took part in the Henley Royal Regatta last summer.
• Four rowers were named 2023 IRCA Scholar Athletes.
• Jay Farwell is in his second season as director of rowing. He oversees both the men's and women's rowing programs at Santa Clara after spending the previous 10 seasons as the head coach for the men.

"Our team is grateful for the opportunity to compete at the 120th Annual National Regatta at Lake Mercer, New Jersey and we are traveling three 8s (V8, 2V8 and 3V8) to compete against the best crews in the country. This is a very important process for us especially since it extends our season and allows our team to continue training and developing our guys for next year. This will be an eye-opening experience for the five freshmen that are mixed into our three 8s. For our seniors and other upperclassmen, the trip to Lake Mercer will be a familiar one and that prior experience will be important for us. We want to recognize our seniors (Nick Kostanecki, Christian Koddenberg, Jack Hickey, and Jackie Ng) who will be finishing their collegiate rowing careers this weekend at the IRA National Championship. We also want to recognize Seth Hanson who is our first fifth-year rower to come through the program."
