Harvey In Top 10 After Mason Rudolph Championship First Round

FRANKLIN, Tenn. - Santa Clara men's golf senior Berk Harvey turned in a 3-under 68 on Friday to tie for seventh after 18 holes of play at the Mason Rudolph Championship. 

The San Jose native tallied four birdies in his opening round with just one bogey. He is currently in a five-way tie for seventh and five strokes behind the day one leader, Vanderbilt's Cole Sherwood (8-under 63). 

Santa Clara as a team finished the day 5-over 289 and sits in 11th. host-No. 3 Vanderbilt is the leader at 18-under 266. 

Zack Kaneshiro turned in a 1-over 72 to tie for 47th with teammate Oscar Zimmerman nipping at his heels at 2-over 73 (t-54th). Cameron Kaiser is tied for 74th at 5-over 76 and Nolan Forsman sits in 85th at 8-over 79. 

NOTES

  • Harvey's 68 is his second-lowest round of the season and fourth round under par.
