Men’s Golf To Round Out Regular Season At El Macero Classic

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara men's golf will head north this week as three rounds at the El Macero Classic await them in Davis, California from Friday to Sunday.

NOTES

  • This will be Santa Clara's second-to-last tournament out of eight total this spring season before they head to Bremerton, Wash. to end their season at the WCC Championships. Most recently, the Broncos came away with a tied-8th finish out of the massive field of The Goodwin where Julien Paltrinieri had the highest finish for a Bronco for a second week in a row at tied-11th.

  • The site of the El Macero Classic, El Macero Country Club, will span 7,127 yards this week, the longest of any course that the Broncos have played in the spring portion of their season. The Fresno State Bulldogs are defending champions.

  • The 20 teams composing the field of the El Macero Classic will be Santa Clara, host UC Davis, Cal, Cal Poly, CSU Fullerton, Denver, Fresno State, Grand Canyon, Idaho, Loyola Marymount, Long Beach State, North Texas, Pacific, Sacramento State, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle U, UC San Diego, UCLA and Washington State.

  • The Broncos making the trip will be Paltrinieri, Viraj Garewal, Calder Overfelt, Eugenio Bernardi, and Cameron Kaiser. Paltrinieri also leads the team in scoring average at 71.62 strokes per round.
