NOTES

  • At the West Coast Conference Championships, Santa Clara's previous tournament, three Broncos finished in the Top-20 of the 45 competitors and as a team the Broncos finished in tied-fifth place at the conference's culminating event.

  • According to the General Manager of Ak-Chin Southern Dunes, the tournament is considered to serve as "a second National Championship event (in which) more college programs and student athletes are able to play into the post-season" (Golfweek).

  • The 13 schools participating in this post-season event will be Santa Clara, Arkansas State, Ball State, George Washington, Oral Roberts, Penn State, Stetson, Texas State, Troy, Utah Valley, Valparaiso, Washington State, and Wyoming.

  • There will be six Broncos making the trip southeast including Viraj Garewal, Calder Overfelt, Eugenio Bernardi, Nolan Forsman, Alex Conley, and Jolo Magcalayo (substitute).

  • Julien Paltrinieri will not be contending in the NGI this week as on May 17th he played the final round of the NCAA Regional qualifying event held in Morgan Hill, just 30 minutes south of Santa Clara. He went 71-83-67--221 over the tournament having a stellar Final Round but was not enough to punch a ticket to NCAA D1 Championship.
