MARICOPA, Ariz. - Santa Clara men's golf all shot rounds spanning from 2-over 74 to 5-over 77 today, with Viraj Garewal and Nolan Forsman tying for the low round of the day for the Broncos.

After a 4-under 68 in Round 1, Garewal kept up the good play as he went out today on the back nine 4-under including an eagle on the almost 600-yard No. 16 but could not keep it up as he went 6-over on the back to shoot a 2-over 74 and to fall back to the T11th position at 2-under overall. Alex Conley had an opposite set of nines as he went out in 4-over then came in with an even-par front nine, also recording an eagle, this time on the par-5 No. 3. He ended up shooting a 4-over 76 to go into a tie for 33rd at 2-over. After an opening round 3-over 75, Forsman came back one shot better today going out in 1-under and coming in in 3-over to shoot a 2-over 74 and to go into T49th place at 5-over.

Calder Overfelt also played better on the back than the front today coming in 4-over after going out in even-par, resulting in the second consecutive 4-over 76 of the tournament for him and putting him in a tie for 56th at 8-over. Eugenio Bernardi had a mixed day as well, shooting one shot worse than in the first round with a 5-over 77. He is now sitting in a tie for 59th at 9-over.

Cumulatively, Santa Clara was 12 over par today, 11 strokes worse than in Round 1, putting them in 13th place in the team standings. Texas State made a push today going 8-under cumulatively to sit atop the leaderboard while Wyoming's Tyler Severin maintains his standing in first in the individual rankings. There is still more golf to play in the National Golf Invitational. The Broncos will tee off on No. 10 tomorrow alongside Arkansas State beginning at 8:48 AM PT.
