SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The West Coast Conference Player and Co-Defender of the Year, Jeff Stewart, will showcase his abilities for Major League Soccer teams at the annual Senior Bowl, February 6-11 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

The senior bowl will consist of a week full of events culminating on the weekend with the game on Sunday, followed by the MLS Super Draft on Monday, February 11. The first day will consist of workouts and physicals for each of the players, followed by two days of training and the game on Sunday.

With this being a national showcase for a player like Stewart, he says he is excited to showcase his abilities.

"I hope to show well in front of whoever is there," said Stewart. "Hopefully at the end of the weekend I will have put myself in a position to be drafted. I know there has been interest shown by a couple of clubs so I am looking forward to showing what I can do for the rest of the teams."

Stewart was invited to the senior only All-Star game after leading the Santa Clara University men's soccer team to its ninth overall WCC Championship in November. In addition to leading the usually stellar Bronco defense to an amazing 0.80 goals-against average, Stewart finished third on the team in scoring. He posted thre goals on the season, including the game-winner against Oregon State in overtime.

The senior from Bellevue, Wash., also helped Santa Clara into the NCAA Tournament where they advanced to the second round following a dramatic 1-0 victory over California in triple overtime.

Stewart finishes his career at Santa Clara having played in all 83 games during his four-year span, including two straight appearances in the College Cup in 1998 and 1999.
