Men's Soccer to Host Annual Golf Tournament

Men's Soccer to Host Annual Golf Tournament

April 6, 2005

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara University men's soccer program will be conducting its 2nd Annual Golf Tournament on May 16 at the Cinnabar Hills Golf Club in San Jose, Calif.

Looking to build on the success from last year's event, this year's tournament will feature all the fun games from 2004, such as longest drive competition, closest to the pin competition and a putting contest. New this year is the choice between playing either scramble format or individual ball tournament. Mulligans, strings and caddies will also be available for purchase during the round.

Following the tournament, there will be a live auction, silent auction and raffle with all proceeds benefiting SCU men's soccer. The auction will feature items ranging from golf equipment to adidas apparel and gear. SCU men's soccer is accepting donations for all of these events. In addition, there are various sponsorship opportunities available for the tournament. Sponsorships range from $500-$5,000.

Years of tradition and commitment to excellence make up what the Bronco program is today. With 39 Broncos going on to play professionally, 14 All-Americans and a consistent presence in the NCAA tournament, the Bronco program is one of the best in the country. Thanks to the support and guidance passed down by past generations, the program is able to annual remain among the nation's elite. The team embarks on a new season, carrying the tradition and the values of those before them at the forefront of their efforts.
