Following up on their West Coast Conference awards as the Player of the Year and Goalkeeper of the Year, Erik Hurtado and Larry Jackson have both been named to the 2012 Continental Tires NSCAA All Far West Region Team.  Hurtado was named to the All Far West Region First Team.  Jackson was named to the Third Team.  Hurtado collected the school's first NSCAA All-American honors since 2007 on Dec. 7 when he was named to the Third Team All-American.

Hurtado is the first Bronco to be named to the All-Region First Team since Peter Lowry and Jamil Roberts were named First Team in 2007.  Jalil Anibaba was the last Bronco named Third Team in 2009.

In addition, Hurtado is among thirty-four of the nation's top men's college soccer players named a finalist for the 2012 Soccer News Net College Boot award, recognizing the men's college player of the year.

"This is a true nod of their success - being named All-Region - because this is voted on by both the region coaches and those teams we faced," said Bronco head coach Cameron Rast.  "Both of them had the type of senior year we had hoped they would have."

Hurtado led the WCC with 2.08 points per game, 0.83 goals, 0.42 assists per match and five total game-winning goals in conference play. He consistently ranked among the NCAA's top-10 in scoring this season. Hurtado is the first Bronco since Peter Lowry in 2007 to be named the WCC Player of the Year.   

He goes down in the record books as one of the most accomplished goal scorers in Santa Clara history. He finished an outstanding collegiate career ranked No. 3 all-time at SCU in goals (33) and career points (86). He also came in at No. 9 all-time at SCU in assists (20). Hurtado - who helped the Broncos win the 2010 WCC Championship - enjoyed his best collegiate season as a senior, ranking among the NCAA's top 5 in goals and top 10 in virtually every offensive category.

Jackson, who has already played with the U-17 and U-20 US National Teams, earned All-WCC honors in each of his three years in goal for SCU. He was also named the WCC Goalkeeper of the Year in 2012.  Making his three all-league seasons even more impressive, is the fact that the 2012 campaign was Jackson's first playing more than 14 games as the Broncos' primary keeper. He went 11-5-1 with seven shutouts and 60 saves with a 0.85 GAA this fall.
