Former Bronco Helps U.S. to 2013 FIFTA Beach Soccer World Cup

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – With a long tradition of producing top talent on the international level, former Bronco men's soccer player Anthony Chimienti scored a goal in the semi-final of the CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championships for the U.S. The win qualified the U.S. for the 2013 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup. Chimienti has played professionally in the MLS for the San Jose Earthquakes and in the NPSL for the Sacramento Knights.

At Santa Clara, Chimienti was named All-West Coast Conference Second Team in 2000 and 2001 and All-WCC Honorable Mention in 1999. Chimienti is seventh on the all-time goals scored list with 25 and is tied for ninth in points with 61. In 2001 he scored a goal in five consecutive games, tied for the most in Santa Clara history.
