Seven Men's Soccer Players Honored for Work in the Classroom

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Heading into the final weekend of the regular season, Santa Clara men's soccer had seven players recognized on the 2014 West Coast Conference Men's Soccer All-Academic Team. Kendall McIntosh and Glenn Vass were named to the team while Brennan Castro, Matt Escobar, Parker Holland, Victor Magana and Max Ornstil honorable mentions. McIntosh was also a 2014 Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-District 8 first-team selection.

"We are very proud of our student-athletes," said Bronco head coach Cameron Rast. "Santa Clara is an academic institution, and we are very fortunate to play nationally, competitive soccer. They are here to get an education and that is something we strive to emphasize in the program. Particularly in the last couple of years, the guys have just done a tremendous job across the board in really making that a priority in their experience here. I'm super proud of Kendall, Glenn and the five others for being recognized for their efforts today."

The Broncos wrap up their regular season on Sat., Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. at San Francisco. Santa Clara is 6-8-4 overall and 2-3-1 in the WCC.
