SANTA CLARA, CALIF. – Santa Clara men's soccer announced its 2017 spring schedule on Monday afternoon. Head coach Cameron Rast and his squad are currently set to play five games, four at Stevens Stadium and one on the road at UC Davis.
"We feel as though we have put together a very competitive spring schedule that will allow our group to continue making strides in their development," Rast said.
The Broncos will host San Jose State on April 9 to open up the spring season. SCU will then square off against UC Santa Barbara on April 22 followed by an alumni game on April 23. Each of those matches will take place at Stevens Stadium.
"After a long winter it will be nice for the guys to play against some of the top teams in the area and challenge themselves as we work toward our fall season," Rast said.
The Broncos defeated San Jose State 1-0 in double overtime in the fall of 2016 but did not play the other teams last season. SCU is coming off a 5-10-1 season but two seasons ago reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament and will look to return and surpass those results this season.
Note: The team may add another game to this schedule at a later date.
