Men’s Soccer Signs Three Local Standouts in 2023 Recruiting Class

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's soccer announced the signing of a three-member recruiting class.  Martin Kwende Jr., Keagan Rhodes and Will Wiersdorf, all hailing from the Bay Area, will join the program as freshmen in the fall of 2023.

"This year's class spans multiple years of commitments to replace an integral group of players.  We needed to bolster the roster in each of the playing lines and we have signed some great quality players to do just that," said Broncos head coach Cam Rast.

Kwende Jr. is a 5-foot-11 left wing from nearby Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose, California and plays his club soccer for the San Jose Earthquakes Academy.

Rhodes, a left back is also from San Jose and is the captain at Bellarmine College Preparatory.  The 5-foot-11 Rhodes plays club soccer for the De Anza Force and is a free kick specialist.

Wiersdorf committed to the Broncos a couple of years ago, prior to serving on a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Wiersdorf played center attacking midfielder at San Ramon Valley High School in Danville, California and club soccer for the De Anza Force.

Beginning Friday, November 18, the Broncos will highlight one signee per weekday.  The first of those signees is Martin Kwende Jr.
