SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara Sporting Club held its First Annual Goals For A Cure Coaches game on Stanton Field Sunday night. The event was launched to raise awareness and collect donations to fight breast cancer.

"The Santa Clara Sporting Soccer Club is an important organization in our community and they are raising money for an important cause," said Santa Clara head men's soccer coach Cameron Rast, who also participated in the Goals For A Cure game. "We are happy to be a support both them."

During the month of October, all 25 Santa Clara Sporting soccer teams competed in pink soccer jerseys and had a goal of raising $25,000 through flat donations and a goal-a-thon. Although a finally tally has not been made, all funds that were raised by the soccer teams will be utilized to hold free breast cancer screenings at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View.
