Head coach George Husack, on match: "It was a very good win for us today. They were playing their first match outdoors so we had a bit of an advantage there. We had a long layoff before today's match, but we responded well. To beat a solid team like Portland after that layoff showed that we are playing well."
Husack, on play of Hicks and Shields: "Tommy is playing very resilient tennis and he just keeps improving. Blane has also had a good run in singles. It is nice to have so much depth and a lot of options."
Husack, looking ahead to Saint Mary's: "That will be one of the biggest matches of the season for us. They are a very deep team and they have done very well this season. We expect them to have a big crowd up there."
Husack, on road play: "Traditionally, we have not had great success on the road, but this year we have won some important road matches. We have also played well in a couple of road matches that we lost. I think that we have improved a lot on the road."
