DAVIS, Calif. - Matthew Rodriguez had a strong showing in the fall season opener for Santa Clara men's tennis with a singles win and a doubles victory at the UC Davis Aggies Invitational on Friday.
The Bronco senior played alongside Pacific's Micah Erwin in the doubles gold draw. The duo took down Sumir Srivastava and Aidan Watts, 8-4, in the round of 16 but fell to Patrick Wong and Michael Gravel, 8-2, in the quarterfinals.
In singles action, Rodriguez was the lone Bronco to pick up a win, defeating Mitchell Davis 6-1, 6-4 in the round of 16 of the white draw.
