SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The 18th-ranked Santa Clara University men's water polo team fell to fourth-ranked UCLA 13-3 this afternoon in non-conference action. The match was hosted by UC Santa Cruz at its East Fieldhouse.

Senior Daniel Figoni scored twice for the Broncos, while freshman Sho Yamazaki added one. Santa Clara was playing without the services of Kenny Flanagan-De La Hoz, who was ill.

"It was a good effort for us today and great experience to play such a strong squad," SCU head coach Keith Wilbur said after the contest.

Peter Moore led the Bronco defense with seven blocks in three quarters of action. Floyd Tucker took over for the final frame, and posted two blocks and one steal.

The Broncos, 15-13 on the season, will take next week off and then close the regular season the following weekend with two home matches. On Friday, Nov. 14, the Broncos will host Division III third-ranked UC Santa Cruz at 4 p.m. On Saturday, Santa Clara will take on 16th-ranked UC Davis at 1 p.m. Both matches will be played at the Leavey Pool and are free to attend.
