No. 16 Men's Water Polo Falls At No. 14 Princeton on ESPNU

Princeton, N.J.- In the firt game of the weekend against No. 14 Princeton, the No. 16 Broncos fell 9-7. Despite having the lead going into the fourth quarter, Princeton went on an unanswered three-goal run to win the game. The Broncos will continue their play this weekend at the Princeton Invitational where they will play four more games through Sunday. 

"We had some jitters in the first quarter," said head coach Keith Wilbur after the game. "I think we played really well in the second and third quarter. We got our offense more under control and created good opportunities. Princeton hit some nice shots in the fourth. Princeton is a very good team and this is a game we can build off of."

Both teams scored three goals in the first quarter and two in the second and the two teams were tied 5-5 at the end of the first half.

The Broncos took the lead, scoring two goals in the third.  Down 7-6 entering the fourth quarter, Princeton's defense held a tight line and rejected each of the Broncos shots over the final eight-minute period.

The Broncos were led by senior Theo Nasser, who scored two goals in the second quarter and earned two ejections. Matt Kochalko had two assists and scored one goal and Evan Chang had one assist and a goal.  Kyle Nadel, Jimmy Moore and Matt Godar each registered one point for the Broncos. Tucker Casidhe McClone earned one ejection.  Patrick Weiss also had two assists. Matt Pritchett registered nine blocks.

Princeton was led Thomas Nelson, who scored three goals for the Tigers. The Princeton  goalie Alex Gow registered nine blocks and one steal from the cage.
