Men's Water Polo Defeated At No. 4 Stanford

SANTA CLARA, Calif.- The No. 15 SCU Broncos couldn't fend off the No. 4 Stanford Cardinal on Saturday. After a hard-fought battle, the Broncos fell 20-5 in the Avery Aquatic Center. The Broncos are now 9-5 for the season.

After jumping out to a 1-0 lead with a goal by Mark Davis, the Broncos just could not keep up with the fast pace game the Cardinal play. Stanford went on a five goal run to end the first quarter 5-1.

Jimmy Moore ended that run in the beginning of the second quarter, scoring in the opening 20 seconds of the quarter. But the Broncos best efforts just could not stop the force of the Cardinal who answered with quick goals.

Davis would go on throw score another goals for the team, along with Graham McClone and Matt Kochalko. Matt Pritchett recorded nine blocks, and Larry Andrews saw some playtime too, and recorded three blocks.

The Broncos will now gear up to head down to Orange County for the SoCal tournament in Irvine, Calif.
