Men’s Water Polo Heads Back to Conference Play Saturday

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – After nine days off, Santa Clara's men's water polo returns to action Saturday when it travels to Air Force for a Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) game.

The Broncos (5-9, 1-1) and Falcons (4-11, 0-2) are set to face off at 11 a.m. Pacific in Cadet Natatorium.

Santa Clara last played on Oct. 5, falling 21-7 at home to No. 5 Stanford.

Graham McClone, one of only four seniors on the squad, continues to lead the Broncos in scoring, accounting for 26 goals on the season. He also leads the team with 13 steals. Fellow senior Will Grant is third on the team with 15 goals and second with 23 kickouts drawn.

The Broncos have freshmen contributing both offensively and defensively. Mac Carey is second on the team in goals (20) and first in assists (14), Keaton Fox has started all 14 games in net and Ryan Werner and Shane Hughes have nine goals apiece. Hughes has tallied five goals in the last four games.

Junior Riley Thomas is the Falcons' top offensive threat. He leads the team with 35 goals, 20 assists, 55 points and 32 steals.

Air Force has won the last three meetings with the Broncos.
