SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's water polo picked up a pair of victories during Saturday's action at the school's annual Rodeo Tournament.

The Broncos (8-10) downed Wagner, 14-7, in the morning before knocking off Johns Hopkins, 15-10, in the final game of the day, which featured seven contests at Sullivan Aquatic Center.

Graham McClone (seven) and Dane Estrella (six) and Mac Carey (five) combined for 18 goals in the two games.

McClone had a game-high four goals against Wagner (7-16) and then matched Estrella for the team scoring lead against Johns Hopkins (3-12) with three apiece.

After Matthew Miller scored to cut the Wagner deficit to 7-6 with 6:21 left in the third quarter, the Broncos reeled off the next seven goals and held the Seahawks scoreless for more than 14 minutes of action. Ryan Werner's goal on the penalty shot made it 8-4 with 2:35 left before halftime. Wagner never got closer than three the rest of the way.

In the nightcap, the Broncos snapped a 4-all tie early in the second quarter with four straight goals. McClone scored an exclusion goal with 5:32 left in the quarter then Carey (with the man advantage) and Estrella scored less than one minute apart. One of Josh Kurtz's game-high five goals cut the deficit to 11-8 for Johns Hopkins with less than one minute left in the third period, but the Broncos scored three goals in just more than two minutes early in the fourth to help seal the win.

Freshman goaltender Patrick Collins, who made his first-career start in Friday's loss to Brown, secured the victory in both games.

St. Francis (N.Y.) and UC Davis also won both of their games Saturday at Santa Clara. St. Francis defeated LMU, 13-12, and Johns Hopkins, 9-7. The Aggies knocked off Harvard, 7-6, before defeating Wagner, 18-5.
