No. 17 Broncos Pick Up First Conference Win, 10-3, Over Biola

LA MIRADA, Calif. - Behind a three-goal hat trick from Chase Raisin and an outstanding defensive effort in the net by Chase Zamborelli, No. 17 Santa Clara men's water polo picked up a big victory on the road with a 10-3 win at Biola on Friday morning. The win was the Broncos' first in league play and improves the team to 4-7 overall on the year.

Things were tight early on with the Broncos holding a slim 3-1 advantage at the half, but Santa Clara's offensive attack found its rhythm in the second half with three goals in the third period and four more in the fourth as they cruised to the victory. Raisin's three goals were a season-high for the redshirt sophomore. Caedmon Fisher, Billy Barry, Jackson Westerman, Kyto Fraley, Bennett Stafford, Dominick Kirk and Reece Jenican also found the back of the net in the winning effort. Fisher dished out two assists and Barry led the team with two steals.

Zamborelli, making his ninth start of the season, put up a wall in the net with 12 saves against just three goals allowed. The save total was his second-highest of the season.

The Broncos will look to keep the momentum rolling tomorrow on the last day of their SoCal road trip. SCU will take part in the Cal Baptist Invitational with matches against Austin College (9:00 a.m.) and Cal Lutheran (1:00 p.m.). Both games will have live stats available through FOSH.
